Corporate Comedy
Bert Kruismans (BE) is a stand-up comedian, writer, television- and radio host, jurist, gardener (if it's really necessary).
Bert started his career in 1990 as an editor and host at VRT-radio stations, such as Studio Brussels and Radio Donna. He hosted his own radio show on Radio 1 (Het Reyerscomplex) and Radio 2 (Vlaanderen voor beginners). Since 2009, every Monday morning he serves a strong coffee (Le Café Serré) at La Premiere (RTBF).
On television he did his bit in all kind of programs, such as 'De Rechtvaardige Rechters' (Canvas), 'Polspoel & Desmet' (VTM), 'Paparazzo' (VT4), '50 degrés nord' (Arte Belgique) and 'Tournée Générale (La Une). By hosting this last show (exploring Belgian Beers) he was the first Flemish host at the RTBF in 35 years. It also produced a guest appearance on Channel Four, next to Jamier Oliver.
In Flanders, Bert is well known as 'De Allerslimste Mens Ter Wereld' (The smartest person in the world). This is not a joke!
Bert wrote columns for Radio 1, Radio 2, Libelle, De Morgen, De Juristenkrant and Notarius. With co-author Peter Perceval he published the books 'België voor beginnelingen' and 'Wereldberoemd in Vlaanderen'. In 2011, together with the famous cartoonist Pierre Kroll, he delivered 'Foert, Non Di Dju', a bilingual book on the political crisis in Belgium after the elections of 2010. In 2012 they published 'Foert, Non Di Dju, part 2'. In 2013 Bert wrote (on his own) the bestseller 'Meneer de notaris', the memoirs of the Belgian notaries.
Bert also wrote theatrical plays for his colleagues Els De Schepper and An Nelissen. In 1997 he was amongst the pioneers introducing stand-up comedy in Belgium. Since then he is on an eternal tour with his own comedy shows, performing in Dutch, French and English in Flanders, Brussels, Wallonia, France and the Netherlands. These shows were also broadcasted on Flemish or Frenchspeaking television.
